Frequently Asked Questions
We trust that with the information supplied to you on this web page
your visit with us will be more pleasant, informative, and yes, even inspiring!
Who are we and how long have we been in the area?
LCPC is a loving, caring, orthodox and biblically conservative congregation within the Presbyterian Church (USA). In order to stand against the extreme liberal positions that our denomination has taken in recent years, we have proudly aligned ourselves with the Confessing Church movement. While our church is an older one historically--- it was founded in 1847--- we are nonetheless a relatively younger congregation with the largest age group falling between the twenty-five to fifty-five year-old age category. We welcome all who seek a relationship with the Triune God, the love of the Father, the grace and truth of His Son, Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

What worship services do you offer?
There is a traditional worship service at 8:30 AM and a blended worship service at 11:00 AM consisting of a time of contemporary praise and worship combined with a traditional service and hymns.
Do you have to be a member of LCPC to receive communion?
No. The communion table is open to all who proclaim Jesus Christ as their Savior from sin and who seek to follow him as the Lord of their life. If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, you are welcome to share in the bread and cup of communion with us.
When does LCPC offer communion?
Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. We usually offer “regular communion” where the elements of bread and juice are passed through the congregation. Occasionally we offer “tincture communion” and believers go forward, guided by ushers, to dip the bread into the common cup.
Can I have my child baptized at LCPC?
Very possibly. Parents wanting to have their children baptized are expected to attend a one-session class with the pastor that unpacks what baptism is all about and how LCPC aims to support spiritual growth in families. Simply call the church office in order to schedule this class. Because we understand the sacrament of baptism to be a sign of entrance into the life of discipleship (Matthew 28:20), those bringing children for baptism should be members of LCPC or some other church where they can actually grow up in a life of Christian discipleship.
Can I be married at LCPC?
Contact the church office to explore the possibilities. If you are engaged, we join you in celebrating that wonderful news! While you do not have to be a member of LCPC to hold your wedding here, the pastor is however expected to coordinate and officiate at any wedding service associated with the church.
What do you do with the information I put on the “Visitors Card?”
The cards are given to Pat Bertrand, our Administrative Assistant, she gives them to Pastor Billy Younger who reviews the card and sends a letter of follow up and the names are added to the church mailing list.
How do I become a member?
If you are interested in becoming a member of LCPC please talk to Pastor Billy Younger about attending membership/confirmation classes.
Where are the church offices?
Offices are in Faith Centre, the white building located directly behind the Christian Education building. Pastor Billy Younger’s office, the Administrative Assistant, Youth office, conference/meeting rooms and reference library are housed here. LCPC’s Administrative Assistant, Pat Bertrand’s hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and Wednesday’s 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Summer hours may vary. Yes, you may keep your child with you. Children’s bulletins are available at the entrances. A nursery is provided during the 11:00 AM service for children too young to understand the need to be quiet and still during the worship service. Older children, age 4 through 2nd grade are welcome to attend Children’s Church. These children leave the sanctuary during the hymn sung before the sermon and follow the Children’s Church leaders to Hallelujah Hall. The leaders teach a lesson from scripture along with various activities.
