by studying Paul's letters to the Thessalonians and Philippians. The three units explore the nature, foundation, and marks of commitment as they apply to Christians in today's world. In the Unit 1 lessons on 1 Thessalonians, we see that genuine commitment is visible to others, desires to please God, sustains us and other believers, and is both reinforced and strengthened by concrete actions that grow out of a desire to please God. Unit II looks at the foundation of Christian commitment by studying 2 Thessalonians. Our foundation is revealed in God's plan for all creation, our desire to give glory to Christ, our being chosen by God, and our ability to stay committed because of God's faithfulness. Unit III studies Philippians and the marks of our Christian commitment such as serving others, focusing on the future and our mission in Christ, finding joy and peace in Him, and being upheld
by God's commitment and faithfulness.
